Nomas Community Programme
Nomas Press Release - September 2000
Nomas Training & Consultancy Ltd, a Ponteland based, software training company, has underlined its commitment to the local community, with the announcement that a minimum of 10% of all its net profits will be contributed to charitable organisations.
The decision has been taken by Simon Patterson, the company’s Managing Director, who founded Nomas in 1996.
He said, “I have always believed that companies should become involved with their local communities and support good causes in their area. This seems the perfect way for our company to put something back into our local community”.
“We are obviously working within a financial framework, but I feel we must do all we can to help charitable organisations and I urge local businesses who are not doing so already, to consider this form of initiative”.
The company is now encouraging charitable organisations to get in touch and is also displaying details of its new scheme on its web site at www.nomas.co.uk. This will include information on all contributions made throughout the year.
Nomas has provided training for several of the largest organisations in the North East including Nissan, Nike, Newcastle University, Northern Electric, Sanofi Winthrop, University of Northumbria, Atmel and Siemens.
Though the company has had no specific targets for sponsoring charitable causes in the past. It has contributed towards a number of local charities, including sponsoring a local entrant in the Mencap Australian Bike Ride in 2000.
